Youngster growing up fast

Laura McCracken finished the indoor season in style on Saturday with a gold medal performance.

The Mearns Castle pupil came out on top on the Scottish age group U18 championships at Kelvin Hall in the women’s 60m.

The youngster recorded a personal best of 7.92 seconds in the final and won her heat in eight seconds flat.

Last month, the 17-year-old ran for Scottish schools at Kelvin Hall and was fifth in the final of the over-16 girls’ 60m in a time of 8.06s.
