Youth is on Biggar Rugby Club's side

BIGGAR Rugby coach Ants Posa will be giving several young players a chance this season as the club gears up for another season in Premier Two.

With the first game of the new season against Hillhead Jordanhill in two weeks, Ants gave his youngsters a run out against East Kilbride on Saturday in a three team tournament at Harttreemill.

The youngsters managed a 24-0 win before the older heads faced Dalziel and, despite being 17-0, scored three tries and three conversions for a narrow 21-17 win.

Ants said: "We haven't brought in as many players this season because we believe in the young players at the club.

"They bring enthusiasm as well as a bit of naivety but that's my job to work with them on that.

"It's easy to bring players in but youngsters will benefit the club in the long term."

Biggar now await Cartha Queens Park who will provide a sterner test for the Hartreemill outfit.
