An exhibition showcasing cringey texts giving out free Irn Bru cocktails opens this weekend
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
An exhibition dedicated to cringe-inducing text messages will be on display at the Social Hub in Candleriggs from Friday 29 November until Saturday 30 November, which also marks the release of a special canned Irn Bru martini.
The BEEP Show is centred around the hilarious mishaps of virtual messaging, and as 40 percent of Glaswegians admit to sending texts they’ve regretted this theme is relevant and relatable, finding the funny side of an awkward situation.

The art show will display digital encounters gone wrong submitted by members of the public who can now laugh about it. From inappropriate messages sent to parents instead of partners, texts poking fun at the boss accidentally delivered to the work group chat, to failed flirting and cringy encounters.
Ahead of the exhibition’s opening, artist Babak said: “I’m not the smoothest operator with my phone, it’s so easy to make mistake – and I’ve done it too - but we can have a good laugh about it afterwards and that’s why IRN-BRU and FUNKIN Cocktails are opening these exhibitions. The memories also make for good material for my work.”
Ashley Birch-Ruffell, Brand Director at FUNKIN quote: “FUNKIN COCKTAIL’S IRN-BRU Vodka Martini is smooth so you don’t have to be. Not everyone is a message maestro and our research shows the majority of us have experienced a heavy dose of cringe when chatting by text. Babak has turned these fails into fine art and we’re so pleased to be able to share it.”

To celebrate the first ever official IRN-BRU alcoholic cocktail, we wanted to take a minute to appreciate some of the not so smooth moments which the nation are navigating every day.”
The BEEP Show opens to members of the public over the age of 18 tomorrow at The Social Hub.
