The four unmissable shows – brought by leading promoter Raymond Gubbay – start with Christmas Spectacular on Tuesday, December 20, followed by The Greatest Show Tunes, Tuesday, December 27, then Glenn Miller Orchestra, Thursday, December 29 and finally The Music of Zimmer vs Williams, on Friday, December 30.

Christmas Spectacular

West End stars Kerry Ellis and Ricardo Afonso get the season underway with Christmas Spectacular – the ultimate festive party, an evening of music, song and dance, which returns to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday, December 20, at 7.30pm

Guest singers Kerry and Ricardo will be joined by Glasgow Chamber Choir and Scottish Concert Orchestra, conducted by John Rigby, plus the Jingle Bell Dancers.

Kerry made her West End debut in the 2001 revival of My Fair Lady as an understudy for the role of Eliza Doolittle.

She has gone on to play leading roles in Les Misérables, Oliver!, Cats, We Will Rock You, and Wicked, in the West End and on Broadway.

The singing sensation has also appeared in national tours and concert productions of musicals like Miss Saigon, Chess, The War of the Worlds, RENT, and Anything Goes.

After meeting Queen guitarist Brian May in 2002, she expanded her repertoire as a solo artist and has released four studio albums.

Ricardo Afonso is of Portuguese descent and is regarded as being one of the best vocal talents in the industry.

He has had a varied and successful career, from singing and songwriting with bands, travelling the world on cruise ships and performing on the West End stage.Recently he appeared in the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar at Regents Park Open Air Theatre.

The Greatest Show Tunes

The Greatest Show Tunes celebrates the best of West End and movie musicals with this show-stopping concert on Tuesday, December 27.

Expect the biggest hits from Grease, We Will Rock You, Chicago, The Greatest Showman, West Side Story, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Cats, La La Land and Dreamgirls, plus many more.

Packed full of greatest show tunes of all time, it will feature sensational West End stars and the Scottish Concert Orchestra.

Glenn Miller Orchestra

The UK’s most renowned big band is returning, swinging you back in time playing Glenn Miller’s own arrangements of favourite wartime chart toppers and hits from the forties, directed by legendary band leader Ray McVay.

With favourites including In the Mood, Little Brown Jug, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol and The Dam Busters March, there will also be tribute to The Rat Pack with New York, New York, That’s Amore, Mr. Bojangles and That’s Life

With special guests The Uptown Hall Gang and Guest vocalists Mark Porter, Catherine Sykes and Ray Wordsworth, this matinee show plays Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Thursday, December 29, at 3pm..

The Music of Zimmer vs Williams

From Gladiator to Star Wars The Music of Zimmer vs Williams celebrates the epic film scores by Hans Zimmer and John Williams – two of the greatest film music composers of all time

It will feature music from Gladiator, Superman, Man Of Steel, Harry Potter, Inception, Jurrasic Park, The Dark Night Rises, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and ET.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will be conducted by Michael Bawtree at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday, December 30, 7.30pm.
