This year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival is packed with acts from across the world, but here are a selection of those from closer to home.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival once again has put together a packed programme for this year’s event, with top names in comedy, music and stage all performing across August.
Kicking off on Friday, August 2 the festival promises to provide a culture packed month until finishing up on August 26.
Performers from across the world will descend on the city for the duration of the festival, but some will have shorter distances to travel than others - with a number of Glasgow-based acts on show.

5. Scott McPherson: A Fine Line Work in Progress

6. No Regrets
Christine Bovill has gained a reputation as one of the best interpreters of French song in Europe. Now she takes her exploration of Edith Piaf and her own life through song to the Fringe. At the heart of the story is a young Glasgow girl, reluctant in school French until she heard 'that song'. 7. Paul Black: All Sorts
Following three consecutive sold out Fringe runs, Paul Black brings his brand new show All Sorts to Patter House. Blending sketches and stand-up with characters old and new, All Sorts is a must for fans of Paul’s viral online comedy, which has reached over half a billion views worldwide and saw him nominated for Sir Billy Connolly’s Spirit of Glasgow Award.
