After news broke on Saturday evening that Oasis were set to get back together, that news was all but confirmed last night (Sunday 25 August) as Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher and Oasis’ official accounts all posted the same clip.
The short video featured the date 27.08.24 and the time of 8am which were contained within an Oasis logo. The rumour is that the band have booked several venues for next year, including 10 nights at Wembley Stadium on their comeback tour.
Oasis have always had a strong connection to Glasgow as the band got their big breakthrough in the city over 30 years ago at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.
Here are seven reasons why we believe Oasis must perform in Glasgow on their reunion tour.
1. Discovered at King Tut's

2. Played their 10 year anniversary show at Barrowlands
Although Oasis played the Barrowland Ballroom when they were starting out in the early nineties, the band returned to the venue in Glasgow's East End on their 10 Years Of Noise And Confusion tour in October 2001 which was filmed. | Sky
3. Played their last concert in Scotland at Murrayfield
Oasis made their final appearance in Scotland at Murrayfield back in June 2009. The band last performed in Glasgow at the SECC in November 2008 meaning that Glasgow has had a longer hiatus. | TSPL
4. Oasis played the first ever T in the Park
Oasis played the first ever T in the Park at Strathclyde Park. They were still a new band at the time and played halfway down the bill in the King Tut's Tent. | T in the Park
