Dead Good October returns with thrilling events

Dead Good October, East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure’s celebration of the spooky season, is returning for its fourth year.

Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock has a series of spine-tingling shows and sessions lined up, with a spooktacular Halloween Party for all the family on Sunday 27 October, Goosebumps 2 on the big screen on Halloween and the smash-hit Spontaneous Potter, an entirely improvised Harry Potter comedy play.

Crime fiction readers are in for a treat as novelist Theresa Talbot will be at Barrhead Foundry on October 14 to talk about her books The Lost Children, Keep Her Silent and latest novel The Quiet Ones.

Mearns Library is bringing tricks and treats, with a Crime Cafe on October 30, as book lovers are invited to put crime capers under the microscope while the Spooky Stories and Songs event on October 28 will feature crime-related games and virtual reality fun, alongside Halloween tales and traditional songs.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “Dead Good October celebrates our spookiest season and is getting more popular every year. We have a series of thrilling events in the lead up to Halloween, featuring crime cafes and author visits, spooky stories and family films and fun.

“The season culminates in a magical bang as we welcome live comedy theatre show, Spontaneous Potter, to Eastwood Park Theatre.”
