Singer Barbara Dickson set for intimate Eastwood Park Theatre gig

The music legend will feature ‘In Conversation with’ award-winning Scottish journalist Graham Spiers, where she will trace her career, telling stories and performing songs on Sunday, October 13.

Barbara, who featured at the Edinburgh Festival and has just been announced as the headline act at this year’s Proms in the Park at Glasgow Green, will take a trip down memory lane, starting from the late 1960s Fife folk circuit through to chart-topping success and prime-time TV, the theatre and her 2002 OBE.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “We are very excited to welcome the legendary Barbara Dickson to Eastwood Park Theatre as part of our fantastic line up this season.

“It is the only ‘In Conversation With’ event on her forthcoming tour schedule so it’s a privilege to be hosting it.

“Barbara will perform some songs as part of the set and journalist Graham Spiers will expertly guide the audience through her journey.”

Barbara, who was born in Dunfermline, started out as part of the Scottish folk scene of the 1960s that included Gerry Rafferty and Billy Connolly and emerged to become the biggest selling Scottish female artist of all time, earning six platinum, 11 gold and seven silver albums.

Barbara’s duet with Elaine Paige ‘I Know Him So Well’ is the biggest selling duet of all time and she continues to captivate audiences with traditional songs of her native Scotland.

She has also acted in a variety of TV Dramas, including Taggart and Band of Gold.
