And it has sparked a host of positive comments from across the country.

Yet unlike many of the photographs presented there, no rural or remote location was needed to give the atmospheric image its big impact.

Snapped at the area known as ‘the bing’ the proudly local setting of the photograph has won it many fans closer to home.

And it’s prompted many to see the area in a new light – while enjoying a much needed hit of optimism in the process!

David explained: “Making the most of our daily exercise, my seven-year-old daughter Eve and I headed off to watch the sunset.

“It was an amazing night. It gave us a little bit of hope during the lockdown.

“I’ve never seen Bellshill look as good.

“A lot of people commented on the photo on Facebook stating they never knew Bellshill could look like that.

“We do have a nice place, it’s just how you look at it.”
