A (very rainy) Ben Nevis challenge

A group of 14 Cosgrove Care staff and volunteers took part in a Ben Nevis challenge to raise funds for local charity Cosgrove Care earlier this month - and raised more than £9,000 for the charity.

The achievement was all the more impressive because of the weather. Far from being a balmy day with easy walking conditions, the volunteers had to slog their way through “terrible” wet and windy weather.

Heather Gray, Cosgrove’s chief executive who also took part in the walk, said:

“We are very grateful to everyone who supported our challenge and who helped raise an amazing £9000 for Cosgrove.

“The money raised will help us deliver services to local children, young people and adults with additional needs.

“We know these supports and services make a real difference in the lives of local people.”

The hard-working charity now supports more than 150 children, families and adults.
