Bach to the classics

The renowned group will play works from Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart during its début tour of the UK.

Following recent successful tours in Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, an Poland, the California-based CCCO arrives in Glasgow this week as part of a 13-date UK tour.

The concert is titled Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart – Violin Masterpieces.

Classical Concert Chamber Orchestra will perform Bach’s Concerto for Violin in A Minor, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Mozart’s Concerto for Violin in A Major.

This trio of celebrated violin concertos will be performed by Ashot Tigranyan as violin soloist.

Since September 2012, the orchestra has performed some of the world’s most important venues.

They have played at renowned stages such as Barcelona’s Palau de la Musica, the Helsinki Music Centre (Helsingin Musiikkitalo), Grieg Hall (Grieghallen) in Bergen, Oslo Concert Hall (Oslo Konserthus), and the Berwaldhallen in Stockholm.

Ashot Tigranyan, founder and soloist of the chamber crchestra group, said:“Britain is one of the highlights of our European tour.

“We will be playing in some of the most beautiful venues in Great Britain with excellent acoustics.”

The California-based virtuoso ensemble has flexible instrument formation, consisting of 28 world-class musicians.

The orchestra adapts to perform many celebrated works of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The 35-member ensemble is made up of highly accomplished musicians from the USA who put a new twist on the orchestra experience.

Modelled after chamber orchestras of the Baroque and Classical eras, this group has no standard conductor but is led from the concert violin of Tigranyan, who graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory.

This flexible orchestra easily changes its format to accommodate the venue or musical arrangement.

CCCO combines a warm and vibrant sound and the richness of tonal colour for which it is recognised.

Maestro Tigranyan has crafted the sound of the orchestra reminiscent of operatic vocals, never failing to elicit standing ovations — so it’s one concert that classical music fans would do well to catch.

The Classical Concert Chamber Orchestra plays Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
