Bless your pets at special service

Dogs, cats, and other creatures great and small are being invited to the annual Pet Blessing Service at St Cyprian’s Church.

The special event is being held on Saturday, October 5, at 11am at the church in Beech Road, Lenzie.

For many people pets are a hugely important part of their lives. Whether a cat, dog, spider or budgie, pets can bring a huge enjoyment, and often a sense of being loved and wanted by something else.

The Reverend Moira Jamieson decided to hold the service three years ago and it proved a hit.

A horse has even attended and waited outside for his blessing and last year there were three degus (bush-tailed rodents from central Chile).

There’s also been dogs, cats and guinea pigs popping along. All pets are welcome to attend.

After the service there will be refreshments for the pets and their friends.
