Record-breaking round the world cyclist Mark Beaumont is coming to Kirkintilloch as part of this year's Scottish Book Week.

The full programme for Scotland’s fifth national celebration of books and reading was announced last week and includes the special event at the William Patrick Library on Monday, November 21, at 7pm.

‘Around the World and Back to Scotland’ will see Mark tell the story of how he circumnavigated the globe on two wheels. .

Local crime author Frank Muir will also be taking part in Scottish Book Week, taking his audience on a dark tour of the home of golf in ‘Murder in St Andrews’ at the William Patrick Library on Tuesday, November 22 at 7pm.

And Queen of crime Anne Cleaves will be giving an insight into her writing at Milngavie library on Monday, November 21, at 7pm.
