Josef Lawrence and The Hypocrites, Covernote, The Purple Felts, Stop The Rain and Red Pine Timber Company have all been hand-picked by to perform on the main stage at this year’s event, alongside a host of tribute bands including Queen tribute Flash.
Iain Brittain, Festival licensee, said: “It is a lengthy task selecting support bands for the festivals, and support submissions started rolling in from September last year.
“We are very fortunate to receive hundreds of applications to perform on our main stage. There is no set criteria for choosing the artists, we just have a listen to them and then decide if their sound is right for our event.
“We feel we get the right balance of original and covers artists which mixes the day up, and also gives up and coming bands a chance to showcase their music.”
Red Pine Timber Company will be warming up the stage for the main tributes, with their lively mix of songs. As Perth’s premier Americana band, they will be performing a great selection of classic country, Americana, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Blues covers, along with their own Americana influenced original material.
Stop The Rain are a young Scottish indie and blues rock band. With exciting new music and an energetic live performance to match their tender ages, these guys will be performing their own music as well as a few covers thrown in.
The Purple Felts are a fun and quirky band from Perth. They will be performing an entertaining set of their own original material, and a selection of covers in their own high energy ska funk style, including artists such as Rage Against The Machine, Pendulum ad The Prodigy.
