Celebrity pooches star at Aye Write!
East Ren authors William McIlvanney, Jacki Gordon and Helen FitzGerald will be joined by comic and radio presenter Fred MacAulay and award-winning Times journalist Melanie Reid to talk at Aye Write! festival on Sunday (April 19).
They will discuss “heartwarming tales of canine companionship from celebrities and other extraordinary people”, the subjects of Jacki’s book My Dog, My Friend.
Jacki will be chairing the event and Fred, William, Helen and Melanie will talk about the impact that dogs have had on their lives, in particular their mental health and wellbeing, their contributions to the book, and will each read extracts from the book, the royalties of which are to be donated to mental health charity, Samaritans.
