Eastwood Park Theatre invites isolated adults to join Christmas fun for free

Eastwood Park Theatre is inviting people feeling lonely or isolated at this time of year to come along to their official Christmas show to soak up some free festive fun.

The Giffnock theatre is giving away single tickets for original Christmas show Jack and the Beanstalk II: Return of the Farmer on various dates between December 23-30, including some seats on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

They are inviting the public to nominate a neighbour, friend or themselves to come along and join in the festive cheer, with wheelchair accessible seats and space to bring an additional carer available in some cases.

Anthony McReavy, chief executive of East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “This can be a difficult time of year for some people in our community but we can guarantee that our Christmas show will bring a smile to everyone’s faces.

“There is always a great atmosphere and we’d like to extend a special welcome to people who may be on their own at this time of year to come along and join in the fun. If you are already coming to a show, have a think about someone you could bring along who would appreciate the company.”

The show is brought by renowned Scottish theatre talents – written and composed by Andy McGregor, who has penned many successful shows for the Citizen’s Theatre and directed by Julie Brown, designed by Claire Halleran and produced by Callum Smith of Showroom. A top cast deliver the story, starring Joshua Aitken as Jack McJack, The Outlaw King’s Kim Allan as Alice, CBeebies favourite and River City star Sarah McCardie as the Witch/Mother and Scottish actor Ross Mann as Jack’s nemesis The Farmer.

Tickets are still available for the shows up until December 30 priced £11 for adults and £8 for children, with a family pass available for £35 (two adults and two kids) available for shows between now and December 30.
