Full Scottish line-up

THE Hydro’s opening weeks have proved a success, with plenty of big name acts performing under the brand new dome — and this week, it’s the turn of Scotland’s own brothers in music, The Proclaimers.

The boys take to the stage on Saturday alongside big name support acts Glasvegas and Roddy Hart.

Known for massive songs such as I’m On My Way and Sunshine On Leith, the identical twins have not only been a hit here in the UK but also topped the US charts with their signature song, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

Charlie and Craig Reid said: “We are very honoured to be asked to play as part of The SSE Hydro’s opening season.

“The Hydro will be a fantastic asset for live music in Glasgow and Scotland and we look forward to a great and special evening.”

It might be an idea to catch them now, as the Hydro concert will be the last for The Proclaimers until they head back out on the road in 2015.

Another band gracing the stage on the night are Glasvegas, from Dalmarnock, fresh from last year’s tour and a third album release last month.

The group will be playing hits from Later...When the TV Turns to Static, as well as anthemic indie rock hits such as Geraldine.

Local act Roddy Hart rounds off the line up, playing singles from his new band Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire, from their debut album of the same 
name.

It’s not exactly 500 miles away — so there seems little excuse to miss a gig at Glasgow’s newest venue.
