Activities include “wonky” bikes, smoothie bikes, a mobile mountain bike trail, electric bike try outs, a treasure trail and bike ride for wee legs and a chance to win lots of great prizes and find out how you can help keep East Ren “green”.

Plus, there will be the chance to get your Bike ID’d with details placed on the National Bike register, keeping it safe and secure, and find out about the bike services and activities available across East Renfrewshire.

Gordon Keenan, chief officer for Neilston Development Trust’s and its Pedalwise ER project, said: “The Pedalwise ER Spring Cycling Festival will be a wonderful day for the community, and visitors to the Park, and will help put Rouken Glen Park on the map as a great place to cycle.

“Neilston was recognised last year as Scotland’s first cycle friendly town and now we wish to take that message out and promote the whole of East Renfrewshire as a place where more people cycle and people cycle more, keeping healthy and helping to reduce carbon emissions in the process!”

“There’s a great bunch of committed staff and volunteers at NDT’s Bank Bike Hub & Cafe in Neilston and now here at Rouken Glen working really hard to make cycling accessible, safe and fun for all sorts; not just the blokes in lycra!”
