Hip hop alive and well in Glasgow

HIP hop has a new home in Glasgow, if Hector Bizerk are anything to go by.

The duo — MC Louie and drummer Audrey — have gained a cult following here, with those in the know embracing their rap-with-a-Glasgow-accent. Wear a Hector Bizerk t-shirt in the street and you’re likely to be stopped by adoring fans — and occasionally Louie himself.

Songs chronicle the good and bad of life in the city, and the name of their new album, Nobody Seen Nothing, is likely to bring a smile to many a Glaswegian’s face.

The album launch takes place tonight (Saturday) at Stereo — tickets from 222 2254. Expect a lively show, livelier audience — and perhaps a new-found appreciation for the genre.
