Local author Kirkland Ciccone is to hst a book group at Cumbernauld Central Library.

The writer of young adult novels Conjuring the Infinite and Endless Empress explains: “The library has roped me into fronting a teenage book group in the library.

Kirkland is trying to get an idea of how much interest his group, called Tspace will generate before starting it up in September.

Sessions are planned for Tuesday evenings from 5.30-6.30pm.

Anyone who is interested in attending these sessions is asked to call Cumbernauld Library 01236 618190. The group is open to readers aged between 12 and 16 and will read young adult books.

Kirkland added modestly: “I have a feeling Endless Empress is going to be one of the books they read and rate. I’m sure they’ll think it’s the best young adult book in history, and probably the most important cultural document since writing started.”
