Pic of the Week: Mount Merapi at Sunrise by Stuart McCann
This image was taken from a hill top close to Yogyakarta in central Java Indonesia about 40km from the volcano which last erupted in 2010.
The photograph was taken after a short hike at 5am for sunrise. Visibility was not great due to cloud cover but I felt that this added to the atmosphere of the shot.
Within the mist in the foreground you can also make out the main Stupas from the 9th century world heritage Borobudur Buddhist temple.
