Summer sounds at Netherlee Church

Classical musicians from across East Renfrewshire are back in Netherlee this week for Chamber Music for a Summer Evening.

Organiser and cellist Martin Storey and wife violinist Kanako Ito — from Netherlee — are leading principals from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and friends in bringing classical music to the masses (for many of the musicians, their neighbours) at Netherlee Church.

The evening will include performances of Mozart’s Quartet for Flute and Strings in D, Bach’s Suite for Solo Cello in C and Mendelssohn’s String Quintet in Bb — as well as a chance to meet the artists.

Tickets for the Friday, May 30 (7.30pm) show are £10/£5 conc, available on the door.
