VIDEO: New song from Dead Man Fall

Cumbernauld band Dead Man Fall have released their latest track.

A year ago, unsigned Cumbernauld band Dead Man Fall had a surprise international hit with the help of TV star Craig Ferguson. He featured their song Bang Your Drum on his final episode of The Late Late Show, and numerous top celebrities were filmed for the segment. As a result, the song shot to the top of the iTunes charts in the USA.

Now Dead Man Fall have followed this up with Calexico, an unusual, but highly infectious, fusion of rock and Mariachi music.

Frontman Des McCabe said: “Calexico is actually the American half of a border city that sits right on the border of California and Mexico. I believe the Mexican half is called Mexicali and sits south of the border.

“I don’t really know where it came from, I think subconsciously it was about trying to get into America after the experience of getting our visas refused.

“The opening line ‘wait all night to cross the borderline’ came about pretty quickly then the song just built from there.”

The song is available now on iTunes.

In addition to the release of Calexico, Dead Man Fall are also booked to headline at Oran Mor in Glasgow on December 23, and were also invited to appear on today’s (Monday’s) edition of the Janice Forsyth show on BBC Radio Scotland.
