What a cool way to spend a hot day

TAKING a stroll through an art exhibition seems like a pretty cool way to spend a hot day.

So southsiders will feel somewhat pleased that a new exhibition is coming their way at Tramway.

Brian Griffiths’ most ambitious solo exhibition so far — Borrowed World, Borrowed Eyes — sees the artist create an installation of delicate monumentality and bleak fragility, staged with pathos and deadpan humour.

Due to Tramway’s massive space in its main gallery, Griffiths will use it to place a mammoth field of sculptures.

And each of these will be shrouded in worn, painted, patched and stitched tarpaulins.

This free exhibition begins on August 3 and ends on September 22.
