TRAM Direct gears up for festive panto fun at The Shed

THURSDAY DECEMBER 10

ALADDIN comes to East Ren, thanks to Eaglesham Music and Drama Group. Festive pantomime running at Montgomerie Halls until Saturday. Times vary, and tickets £6-£8 from [email protected], or from the Movie Cafe in Eaglesham.

SHOPPING night at Williamwood High, hosted by the PTA. 7-10pm for plenty of fab sellers and Christmas presents. Entry £5 for adults, £1 for children.

PANTO fun at Eastwood Park Theatre as Runway presents Dick Whittington. 7.30pm each night until Saturday, plus Sat mats at 11am and 3pm. Tickets £11-£15 from 577 4956.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 11

SOUTHSIDE Fringe Christmas Night Out at The Stag’s Heid (the latest pop up at the former Lebowskis on Nithsdale Road). Entertainment and music as the Fringe family party into 2016 - tickets £8.

BATTLE commences at The Glad Cafe once again for the Southside Street Food Showdown. Babu Bombay Street Kitchen squares up to Beep Beep Tuk Tuk for four courses today and tomorrow - see www.facebook.com/events/1689930391286890 for times and ticket info.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 12

REINDEER return to Holmwood House for another weekend of festive fun. 11am-4pm today and tomorrow and entry is £4 for adults, £6 for children and £16 for family groups. Craft stalls, Christmas tales and a visit from Santa - call 08444932204 for more info.

FESTIVE wreath making at Rouken Glen Park. 1-3pm for free workshop, making wreaths from materials gathered in Rouken Glen. Booking required - call 638 4121 or email [email protected]. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

SPOOKY happenings at Scotland Street School Museum as Scottish Ghost Nights host a professional ghost hunt. 6.30pm-midnight, and tickets are £39, which includes refreshments. Over 18s only.

CHARITY Christmas Concert in aid of the Disabilities Trust - part of the Netherlee Chamber Music Series. 7pm start at Netherlee Church, with performances from professional BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra members and talented young musicians. Tickets £10/£5 conc on the door, and children go free.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 13

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 16

WALKING football at Barrhead Foundry. For over 50s who still love the beautiful game, the session runs 1-2pm and costs £2.75. Jogging, running and sprinting forbidden!

WING and a Prayer Theatre Productions presents Fairytale: the Magical Panto at Newton Mearns Parish Church. Runs until Tuesday (Dec 22) and times vary. Tickets £5 from [email protected] or 639 5830.

MODERN twist on classic panto at Eastwood Park with Insideout Productions’ take on Aladdin. Songs, dance and plenty of Glasgow banter from the team behind last year’s success, The Pure Amazing Wizard of Oz. Runs until December 22. Tickets £14/£12/£10 from 577 4956.

WRITE It! returns to The Glad Cafe for a radio-style panto, Babes In The Wood, set in the familiar-sounding Crossmypollok village. 7.30pm start and tickets are £5/£4.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 18

FOODBANK collection at Silverburn (outside Next). Regular collection hub returns today noon-3pm, in aid of the Glasgow South West Foodbank, which has helped more than 8,000 people in the southside.

FOOD pop up at The Allison Arms, courtesy of Sunshine Tea Lounge. Tonight, oven-baked chicken on the bone, wok-fried in Sichuan peppercorn and served with spicy potatoes. 5.30-9pm - cost £5.50/£6.
