THURSDAY DECEMBER 10

ALADDIN comes to East Ren, thanks to Eaglesham Music and Drama Group. Festive pantomime running at Montgomerie Halls until Saturday. Times vary, and tickets £6-£8 from [email protected], or from the Movie Cafe in Eaglesham.

SHOPPING night at Williamwood High, hosted by the PTA. 7-10pm for plenty of fab sellers and Christmas presents. Entry £5 for adults, £1 for children.

PANTO fun at Eastwood Park Theatre as Runway presents Dick Whittington. 7.30pm each night until Saturday, plus Sat mats at 11am and 3pm. Tickets £11-£15 from 577 4956.

SOUTHSIDE Fringe Christmas Night Out at The Stag’s Heid (the latest pop up at the former Lebowskis on Nithsdale Road). Entertainment and music as the Fringe family party into 2016 - tickets £8.

BATTLE commences at The Glad Cafe once again for the Southside Street Food Showdown. Babu Bombay Street Kitchen squares up to Beep Beep Tuk Tuk for four courses today and tomorrow - see www.facebook.com/events/1689930391286890 for times and ticket info.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 12

SPOOKY happenings at Scotland Street School Museum as Scottish Ghost Nights host a professional ghost hunt. 6.30pm-midnight, and tickets are £39, which includes refreshments. Over 18s only.

CHARITY Christmas Concert in aid of the Disabilities Trust - part of the Netherlee Chamber Music Series. 7pm start at Netherlee Church, with performances from professional BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra members and talented young musicians. Tickets £10/£5 conc on the door, and children go free.

FOODBANK collection at Silverburn (outside Next). Regular collection hub returns today noon-3pm, in aid of the Glasgow South West Foodbank, which has helped more than 8,000 people in the southside.

FOOD pop up at The Allison Arms, courtesy of Sunshine Tea Lounge. Tonight, oven-baked chicken on the bone, wok-fried in Sichuan peppercorn and served with spicy potatoes. 5.30-9pm - cost £5.50/£6.
