FRIDAY DECEMBER 4

FUNDRAISING dinner to fun English and skills classes for refugees and immigrants at Cathcart Baptist Church. The event will focus on the stories of those who will attend the classses, as well as singing/music. SATURDAY DECEMBER 5

JOIN the 91st Netherlee Scouts for a Christmas coffee morning. 10am-noon for refreshments, home baking, raffle prizes, tombola, facepainting and more.

SUPPORT Thornliebank Primary at the school’s annual festive fair, starting at 10am and on until noon. Santa’s grotto, craft stalls, baking, tuck shop and more - all welcome.

FESTIVE fun at Eaglesham Primary Parent Council’s Christmas fair, 10am-noon. Entry is £1.50 for adults, 50p for children for a variety of stalls, homebaking and crafts, as well as Santa’s grotto and raffle.

SANTA pays a visit to Langside Parish Church for a Christmas fair, complete with tearoom, stalls and lots of activities for little ones. 11am-3pm and admission is free.

BEWITCHING Beauty hosts its annual yule fair at new premises The City Beach Centre, 14 Nithsdale Road. Holistic therapies, psychic readings, stalls and home baking, with a percentage of monies raised going to Giffnock charity Friends of Mbwa Wa Africa Animal Rescue. 11am-4pm.

CHRISTMAS fair at Mearns Primary, kicking off at noon (until 3pm). Entry is £2 for adults, 50p for kids (including refreshments) and fun will include Santa’s grotto, football coaching, inflatable assault course, craft stalls, raffle, tombola and more.

GIFNNOCK Primary Christmas fair from noon-3pm. Entry is £1 for adults, 50p for ages 5-12 and free for children under.

CAROLSIDE Primary PTA hosts a Christmas Fair, 12-3pm. Free entry and the school choir will perform 1.15-1.45pm, with a visit from snow queen Elsa at 2pm, as well as a chance to meet a live Minion, and see Christmas decorations kindly knitted by Eastwood House residents.

CHRISTMAS fair at Braidbar Primary. 1-3pm and entry is £2 for adults, 50p children or £5 family, including refreshment and mince pie. Shop gifts including candles and homemade soaps, and be in with a chance of winning £100 in Silverburn vouchers - all welcome.

GIFTS, food, crafts and festive music plus a visit from Santa at Craigholme School’s Christmas fair. 1.30-4.30pm, entry is free and all are welcome along.

SHAWLANDS United Reformed Church hosts its Christmas fair, 2-4pm. Home baking, plants, books, White Elephant stalls and more. Entry £2.50 (50p children) which includes tea and cake. Proceeds to City Mission and the Acoustic Neuroma Support Group.

TRADITIONAL and modern carols at a concert at the University of Glasgow Chapel, including performances from the chapel choir and Clarkston Community Choir. 4.30-6.30pm. Proceeds for the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre. Tickets £15 adults, £5 concession, student and under 16s.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 6

CRAFT fair at Westacres Care Home. Head there 3-5pm, with coffee served 3-4pm. Free entry and hot drink, and all the usual stalls - ideal for a bit of Christmas shopping.

PANTO fun at Eastwood Park Theatre as Runway presents Dick Whittington. 7.30pm each night until Saturday, plus Sat mats at 11am and 3pm. Tickets £11-£15 from 577 4956.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 9

WINTER wander at Rouken Glen Park. Festive event aimed at older adults, with registration taking place at 9.30am. Choice of three walks, from an historical stroll to bird life or a Ramblers Scotland silver route. Free to join - call 638 4121 for more info.

ALADDIN comes to East Ren, thanks to Eaglesham Music and Drama Group. Festive pantomime running at Montgomerie Halls until Saturday. Times vary, and tickets £6-£8 from [email protected], or from the Movie Cafe in Eaglesham.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 10

SHOPPING night at Williamwood High, hosted by the PTA. 7-10pm for plenty of fab sellers and Christmas presents. Entry £5 for adults, £1 for children.
