Thursday June 4

Glasgow Science Festival kicks off, putting the science centre on show. Runs until June 14 - entry to the science mall £10.50/£8.50. Other events going on across the city - see www.glasgowsciencefestival.org.uk for info.

Friday June 5

ANNUAL event the Govan Fair returns from today (noon-10pm) and Sat-Sun (10am-10pm), this year including Zippos Circus. Procession and the crowning of the fair queen, and lots of other events - free event (circus tickets separate).

MOTOWN night at Jayz Bar and Restaurant in Shawlands. The Down Town Cats play a swinging selection from 8pm until midnight and entry is free.

Saturday June 6

EAGLESHAM is the place to be this Saturday for the village’s big fair. Activities running throughout the day, starting with a parade involving local primary schools, Brownies etc - all under the theme All Things Scottish. Family party/disco planned for the evening.

GUAGE 0 only model railway exhibition in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall today and tomorrow. Opening times Sat 10am-4pm and Sun 11am-4pm. Admission £6 (conc £5).

NEW indoor market arrives at The Shed. The Hub Market is on the first and third Saturday of each month, 10am-3pm. Furniture, homemade treats, jewellery, bric-a-brac and more - entry is free.

BEER fans, take note - the first Eaglesham Beer Festival runs alongside the fair from 11am until 8pm. Free entry, and brewers include West, Drygate, Fyne Ales, Harviestoun, Franciscan Well and Loch Ness, as well as wine and cider, food and fun events throughout the day. Sponsored by Whole Foods and Yelp Glasgow.

FESTIVAL Fun Day 2015 over in Govanhill. 11am-3pm for community event which will include a procession, Bodyworks buskers, bouncy castles, a carousel, arts and crafts, live entertainment, tombola and more. The parade begins at 10.30am from Westmoreland Street Gardens.

JOIN the activity ranger at Rouken Glen Park for World Environment Day, and Bioblitz. Eco activities from 1-4pm, including bird watching, river dipping, mini-beasting - free to join but booking required on 638 4121 or [email protected].

AFTERNOON tea at St Aidan’s Church, Clarkston. 2.30-4.30pm for sandwiches, scones and homemade treats. Tickets are £5.

DODGEBALL tournament at Glasgow Maccabi, Giffnock. 10.30am-12.30pm, in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Entry £1.

Tuesday June 9

FREE guitar lessons at Jayz Bar. 4-8pm and open to budding young musicians (of all abilities) aged six to 18. 45 min sessions on playing Darius Rucker’s Wagon Wheel, courtesy of Kieran Sinclair, frontman of Papa Shandy and the Drams. For more info or to book a place, call 649 8737.
