FRIDAY OCTOBER 9

QUEENS Park Camera Club does its bit for the film festival with a screening of Finding Vivian Maier, a documentary on the mysterious nanny counted (posthumously) as one of the 20th century’s greatest photographers. Doors 7.30pm and tickets are £6/£5 conc.

TEENAGERS from the southside make up Plantation Productions’ Create Crew, and they present Much Ado About Govan - a Shakespearean tale with a modern twist - at the Kinning Park Complex. Doors 7.30pm, film 8pm and DJs/live music from 9pm. Free event suitable for all ages.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 10

FAMILY film fun at Queens Park Church from 10.30am, with a Southside Film Fest screening of Martin Scorsese’s Hugo (U). Entry £5, babies 0-18 months free.

GOVANHILL Baths gets in on the film festival action with a day of Making in the Movies. 10.30am-6pm, and free to attend. Events include a Sew La Tea Dough workshop, This Is A Mini Craft Fair, Craftivists workshop, and screenings of Unravel (4pm) and Advanced Style (4.30pm).

STORY of Govanhill Baths goes on the big screen at the iconic venue, with another screening of United We Will Swim...Again!

Doors 6.30pm, film 7pm and the event is free - part of the Southside Film Fest.

FILM at Govanhill Baths. That Sinking Feeling, Bill Forsyth’s 1979 debut on 70s youth culture in Glasgow, is showing at 8.30pm - doors open at 8. Tickets £6/£5 conc. Includes an introduction and Q&A with associate producer Paddy Higson and some of the original cast.

SOUTHSIDE Film Festival director Karen O’Hare and a panel of experts discuss Scotland on Screen at The Glad Cafe. Free event running 2-3.30pm - entry first come, first served.

SUPPORT local film talent at the Southside Filmmaker Screening and Award.

POLLOKSHAWS Burgh Hall’s famous Wurlitzer organ gets an airing with another film fest event. Man With a Movie Camera - an award-winning documentary on urban Russian life - is showing at 8pm, doors 7.30 and tickets £8/£6 conc.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 14

HALLOWEEN kicks off at Whitelee Windfarm with a Witchin Warm-Up. 12-2.30pm at the visitor centre for broom and wand-making workshop. Drop-in event, and free to join.

WATCH with Burrell at another Luminate Festival of Creative Aging screening. Relive your childhood every Wednesday in October with classic children’s TV shows from the 50s to the 80s, each with an animal theme. Free to join, and kicking off at 2pm.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 15

THEATRE at Eastwood Park as Wing & A Prayer Theatre Productions presents Sheerluck and the Case of the Missing Case. 7.30pm each evening until Saturday, plus a 2.30pm Sat mat.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 16

SHOW for little ones at Eastwood Park Theatre as Hairy Maclary’s Cat Tales brings favourite characters back to the stage. 1pm and tickets are £10 standard, £35 family.
