The field to the right of the road — then Cartsbridge Road when the main image was taken in 1930, now Mansfield Road — is where Carolside Primary now stands.

Mansefield Road now follows pretty much the path of the ‘road’ in the old photo. The group of buildings at the very back of the photograph is Cartsbridge Farm, which survived until the 1960s although was latterly hemmed in by housing.
The farm’s land stretched over Cartsbridge Road to include parts of Busby and went as far as the River Cart.
