The town’s High Mill Steering Group, part of the Carluke Development Trust, officially unveiled its plans for the Mill in Kirkton Church Hall alongside architect John Sanders last Thursday.

The plans, which would cost approximately £2.4 million, would see High Mill transformed into a community hub with a visitor centre, cafe, orchard, gardens and a shop with a small carpark being constructed near Moor Park.

The project would be the first of its kind in Scotland although there have been similar projects south of the border.

And they were given an enthusiastic vote of confidence by people at the meeting.
