The meeting in Carluke Primary School will see members of Carluke Development Trust seek views on how to get the ambitious multi-million pound restoration project off the ground.

Development Trust secretary Karen McKay said: “At the previous meeting it was encouraging to receive great support from people who are also interested in the potential of our treasured Mill.

“Currently we have reached a critical point in this project. It is important that once again we consult with the residents of Carluke on funding schemes that can be carried out in our own locality and take action.

“We wish to update everyone on the current status and then hold a round table discussion on the details of when and how we can arrange local fundraising events.

“One suggestion is that the forthcoming Carluke Jam and Ham Festival in October, may be an opportunity to share information with the wider public in the town, or have a display to seek further input from residents.”

The public meeting will be held in Carluke Primary School Community Hall on Thursday, August 28, at 7.30pm.
