Complaints over Abronhill Post Office layout

Pensioner Catherine Smith wrote in to say she was “worried and angry” about the new layout, adding that she had decided against collecting cash due to the lack of privacy on the counter.

A Post Office spokesperson said: ”The change at Pine Road Post Office is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network.

“The open plan format is a different way of providing our service, but security and privacy is not compromised.

“As with any other branch, we have robust security procedures in place.

“Anyone handling Post Office transactions, including new staff, will be fully trained on all operational and service issues, including customer privacy.”
