Broadband in Glasgow: Full fibre with Zen Internet brings a price promise and speeds to futureproof your home
Independent research on behalf of Zen Internet has shown that people see the monthly contract fee, reliability, and speed as the three key factors when choosing a new broadband provider.
And luckily for Glaswegians, they can have access to all three; with the price promise through Zen’s service being an all-important factor.
A study done for Zen by market researcher Opinion Matters, showed that two-fifths of the people questioned had experienced a mid-contract price rise within the last year. This understandably left people feeling angry (45%), frustrated (40%), and deceived (25%).
And because people feel angry, frustrated, and deceived by those mid-contract rises, 44% of the people surveyed said they were likely to consider switching to another broadband provider in the next year or when their contract is up for renewal.
Zen’s fast and reliable service
These findings come at a time when many customers will see their monthly bills increased again in the Spring. Many of the major providers, says Zen, will be adding the UK Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 4% plus an extra margin, usually around 3.9%.
Zen - which is the UK’s only Which? recommended provider for broadband - is offering a contract price promise. That means for people’s pockets that the fee will remain the same for the duration of the contract.
That can be from £28 a month, up to £40 a month.
And for those fees, Zen will deliver full fibre broadband to homes in Glasgow over the CityFibre network, and with a faster and more reliable service.
Zen’s commitment is to eventually reach eight million homes in the UK through CityFibre’s £4bn network.
David Barber is the Strategy Director at Zen Internet and he is confident that by people accessing the CityFibre high quality infrastructure now, they will be ahead of the curve.
He says: “The next few years will be pivotal for connectivity in the home. By 2030 everyone will have made the switch to full fibre. Get ahead now, by accessing full fibre.”
Zen’s price promise, Barber says, comes at a time when households need to plan their monthly spend more than ever.
He is disappointed that the broadband industry “has a poor reputation for managing customer expectations and being transparent with communications”.
Barber says that many customers are encouraged to sign up with broadband providers through special offers, but then further down the line mid-contract price rises are introduced.
He stresses that people in Glasgow “can benefit from access to Zen’s contract price promise, a guarantee that prices are fixed for the duration of a contract”.
A fast, modern connection with Zen
Full fibre broadband has revolutionised internet connectivity in UK homes.
Copper wires delivered traditional broadband, and whilst that was fine for phone calls, it could cause problems for data usage.
With full fibre broadband delivery, fibre optic cables are used instead of the old-fashioned copper wires. This means that the connection is faster, more modern and reliable.
Speeds of up to 900Mbps can be delivered with full fibre - and around 67% of the UK is currently served by this modern approach.
Full fibre can unlock the future of your home.
It will support the potential of every smart device, delivering a solid platform for future-proofing a home’s broadband requirements.
Zen Internet’s speed and contract packages
The company has a number of speed options. Full Fibre 100 is available from £28 per month, and the fastest product available - Full Fibre 900 – is up to £40 per month. They come with free set-up.
