Jobs boost as new chain store comes to Cumbernauld

There is some much needed good news on the job front in Cumbernauld after it emerged one shop would quickly replace another.

Bargain Buys in the Antonine Centre has now ceased trading will be replaced by a chain currently setting up its stall across the UK which is being developed by Poundworld founder Chris Edwards.

Called One Below, items cost a pound or in a new twist in the original formula are cheaper.

And we can confirm that although seven jobs were lost with the closure of the first outlet, around 24 new posts will be created at the new superstore when hiring is complete.

The Cumbernauld News will feature the opening date for the shop in due course.
