The 73-year-old television and panto personality, whose maiden name was Anderson, used her famous catchphrase to describe the book as a “Fan-dabi-dozi thriller”.

Journalist Matt, 49, says: “I first met The Krankies when I flew out to interview them in Palma, Majorca in 1999 when they were working the cruise ship circuit.

“I have stayed in touch with Ian and Janette ever since and was delighted to even visit them at their holiday home on Australia’s Gold Coast in 2017 for their 70th birthdays.

“But I also have Ian and Janette to thank for helping me become an author - as my first published book was when I ghost-wrote their autobiography in 2004. So surprisingly, writing about The Krankies has taken me all around the world.”

Matt’s previous novels have been backed by best-selling authors including Peter May and Outlander creator Diana Gabaldon.

But the dad-of-two says: “Rollover and Die is definitely more of a black comedy than an out and out crime novel – so I hope a quote from The Krankies lets people know they’re in for a fun thriller.”
