Lidl seeks sites in Newton Mearns and Clarkston for new stores

Supermarket chain Lidl has its sights set on opening new stores in Newton Mearns and Clarkston as part of its growth plans across the UK.

And it’s also looking at the possibility of relocating its Barrhead store, currently in Kelburn Street.

Lidl has revealed it is looking for sites for 28 new stores across Scotland, as well as a further five sites to relocate existing stores.

And it has released a ‘site requirements brochure’ highlighting specific locations that are of particular interest, including Newton Mearns, Clarkston and a new site in Barrhead.

It says it is looking for prominent locations with easy access and strong pedestrian or traffic flow.
