New lease of life for former public toilets in Milngavie

Work has begun to transform the former public toilet building at Milngavie.

East Dunbartonshire Council boss Thomas Glen said the council had entered into a lease agreement with a commercial tenant for the building at Lennox Park.

But the council are remaining tight-lipped at the moment over who the new tenant or tenants will be.

Mr Glen said: The former public toilets in Lennox Park, Milngavieclosed in November 1997 and have remained vacant since.

"The details of the lease are commercially sensitive but the tenantproposes to refurbish the building to serve the park and surrounding area.”
