The purchase was made possible with a financial support package from Royal Bank of Scotland and follows the retirement of previous owner, Alan Muir.

The garage has long served Cathcart and the surrounding area, building up a loyal customer base thanks to a reliable and efficient customer service. With David at the helm, it will continue to offer the same excellent service, alongside the existing team.

David is also exploring the opportunity to provide executive valeting for customers as he looks to take advantage of space available on site.

David, who has more than 27 years’ experience in the industry, said: “I have always wanted to be my own boss and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase Alan Muir Motors. The garage is in a great location and has built up a strong customer base in the local community. Some of the customers have been here for years and I aim to uphold the excellent service that they’re used to. Additionally, support from Royal Bank of Scotland means we can look at providing a brand new valeting service as part of our overall offering.”

Adam Galbraith, Royal Bank of Scotland relationship manager, said: “Thanks to Redline Motor Engineers, it is business as usual for the garage and we wish the best of luck to David and his team.”
