Six by Nico restaurant to open in the Southside

It will be the fifth restaurant for the Six by Nico estate and will offer the popular restaurant brand a second location in Scotland’s largest city.

With an increasing trend of families, friends, millennials and young people dining out in the city, chef Nico and his team will expand his concept restaurants portfolio and open Six by Nico Southside this October.

Consumer demand increases by the week for the Glasgow restaurant with a staggering six thousand customer bookings snapped up every month for the Finnieston restaurant site.

Six by Nico Glasgow currently operates on 98% capacity throughout the week (Tuesday - Thursday) and availability on the weekend is at full capacity until early 2020.

Planning is currently underway at the brands development kitchen on Nithsdale Road, known within his brand estate as Supper Club, and the new Six by Nico Southside will add a further 30 covers per service for Glaswegian diners when it opens on October 4.

This brings availability across both Glasgow sites in-line with restaurant capacities at Six by Nico restaurant sites in Edinburgh, Manchester and Belfast.

Earlier this year, Six by Nico announced its expansion plans after the success of both Glasgow and Edinburgh locations. Following on from the launch of its Belfast restaurant on Waring Street in March, the Six by Nico group recently added a City Centre site in Manchester to its estate.

The business, founded by chef Nico Simeone, opened its first site in Glasgow’s Finnieston in 2017. The restaurant group employs over 200 people across its UK venues including Six by Nico in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Manchester, 111 by Nico in Glasgow’s West End and The Hebridean on Glasgow’ Great Western Road.

Six by Nico Southside will officially open on Friday, October 4 at 142 Nithsdale Rd, Glasgow.

The restaurant will launch with the ‘New York’ themed concept menu and will be open from midday every Friday, Saturday and Sundays only. The site will continue to serve as the brands development kitchen during the week.
