Coronavirus: Contact tracing rolled out at Bearsden Academy

Parents and carers of children received a letter from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde last week.

The letter states the NHSGCC is working closely with the school and local authority to “carry out a risk assessment to establish a list of close contacts within the school”.

It also states “close contacts are being advised to self-isolate as a precaution” and that there is no currently of evidence of transmission within the school itself.

Ann Davie, Depute Chief Executive - Education, People and Business, said: “We are fully supporting Public Health at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and assisting with the Test and Protect work at Bearsden Academy.

“We will continue to respond to direction from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

“Robust control measures are in place at the school, and there is no evidence of transmission within the school itself.

“Apart from those who are identified as contacts, all other pupils and staff are not required to self-isolate.

“The school will work with parents and carers to minimise the disruption to learning for those pupils who require to self-isolate and provide reassurance to the whole school community.”
