A Cumbernauld woman who has come back from cancer and has become a dedicated fundraiser for good causes has been shortlisted as a Miss Royal Glasgow finalist for a nationwide pageant due to take place in July.

Nicole Anderson (27) from Braehead Road Kildrum wants to put her time in the spotlight to good use by raising the profile of the Scottish Association for Mental Health and cancer charities.

The former Greenfaulds High pupil who works for a NHS recruitment agency said: "I am continuing my fundraising during the lead up to the finals and if I win I would then go on to compete at Royal International Miss in Florida."

Best of luck Nicole!
