Exhibition will give young people options for the future

The annual UCAS Higher Education Exhibition is coming to Lanarkshire on Thursday, September 20.

Young people can find out more about life after school at the event in Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility from 9.30am-3pm, which is supported by Skills Development Scotland (SDS).

The exhibition brings together representatives from higher and further education institutions who can offer advice as well as information on a variety of courses and learning pathways.

Paula Johnston, trainee careers adviser at SDS, said: “This year’s UCAS Higher Education Exhibition gives young people and their parents the opportunity to find information about their options in the one place at the one time.

“At the event, there will be talks about writing a UCAS personal statement and alternative routes and pathways too.

“Choosing which course, university or career is one of the biggest decisions people make, so it is vital they have all the information to ensure that their decision is well-informed.”

Careers advisers from SDS will be at the free event to give impartial, one-to-one advice on options and opportunities including employment, training, apprenticeships and volunteering.
