The Abronhill Community Hub will unify and upgrade elderly amenities and will provide a new home for St Lucy’s and Abronhill primary schools, a new community centre and a new library. Other community facilities for public and voluntary groups will also feature.

The Education facilities will also include a Family Learning Centre and a Language & Communication Support Centre.

Councillor Frank McNally, Convener of Education and Families said: “It’s part of our programme to replace all schools not replaced or remodelled since 1996. Our vision is to create hubs for the entire community rather than only the school community. It will provide first-class educational and community facilities serving the needs of the residents of the area.

“The consultation process is a key to the success of the project, and we would like to invite people to share their experiences and opinions of current facilities in the area along with their visions for the new community hub.”

An online event is planned for Wednesday March 9 at 6.30 pm via registration on https://abronhillcommunityhub.eventbrite.co.uk

A drop-in event will take place at Abronhill Community Centre on Thursday March 10 between 3pm and 5pm to allow residents to have their say.
