The Herald reported last week how Bishopbriggs Academy and Turnbull High turned their design department into a production line for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) because of a shortage of the vital kit for NHS and local social care workers.

Now between them all, they have made several thousand safety visors using 3D printer technology.

The PPE has been distributed to East Dunbartonshire Health & Social Care Partnership and to hospitals, charities, health centres, medical surgeries, opticians, police and care homes.

Council leaders Councillor Vaughan Moody and Councillor Andrew Polson praised
the schools for their dedication.
