Outdoor education plan that replaced Kilbowie outdoor centre is extended

The non-residential outdoor education programme at Strathclyde Park that replaced trips to Kilbowie Outdoor Centre is to be extended into the next academic year.

The Oban based centre has been demolished after the council said it could no longer afford to pay for it – and Primary Seven pupils are bussed in to the park to do outdoor activities instead.

A council spokesperson said: “This is following highly positive feedback from pupils, parents and teachers. We plan to start increasing the range of activities available through the programme from August 2021, following the easing of restrictions. Our ambitious masterplans for all of our Country Parks are continuing to make excellent progress and further details will be announced soon.”
