Shown around by farmer William Baillie, the 27 P2 youngsters loved their two-hour visit, to supplement a class topic on farming.

“The pupils really enjoyed their visit,” said P2 teacher Sheila McCallum, who accompanied them along with parent helpers and school support assistants.

“They thought it was awesome. The children loved seeing the milking parlour, getting the chance to sit in a tractor and seeing the lambs and calves.

“They thought the lambs were sweet and they liked seeing the bull’s huge horns. And the mess made by the cows was also a topic of much hilarity!”

Organised by the Royal Highland Education Trust, the visit was aimed at giving the pupils practical experience of being on a farm.
