Lucy Hunter, who is in P7 at Hamilton College, has been learning about WW2 and her class were tasked with a project to create an Anderson shelter, so the 11-year-old asked her teacher Mrs Tonner if she could make it out of cake.

Lucy made a Victoria sponge for the base which she then covered in crumbled chocolate cake soil, buttercream grass and fondant corrugated metal and sandbags to complete the look.

She sent samples to staff at the school which Lucy hopes will win her ‘brownie’ points, as well as sharing it with family and neighbours.
