School project manager in line for award

A project manager from BAM Construction Scotland have been short-

listed for one of the UK construction industry’s most prestigious awards.

Henry Hays isin the running for 2014 Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA) at London’s Grosvenor House in October.

Henry has been shortlisted for the final of the ‘New Build and Refurbishment Category between £20-£28 million’ following his successful delivery

of Eastwood High Secondary School in Newton Mearns. The first of Scotland’s ‘Pathfinder Schools for the Future’, this 1,200 pupil school features a number of unique design elements based around an open atrium space incorporating the ‘Kelly MacDonald Drama Box’, named after the actress and former pupil. As part of the project Henry also delivered a community sports hub consisting of sports halls, a fitness studio, an external athletics track and hockey pitch.
