Children were challenged to create a short film which explored the impact of conflict on their local community and the role that local veterans played.

The film was made by P7 pupils who focused on the stories of two World War Two veterans and beat three other finalists in a public vote.

They will now have the opportunity to perfect their filming and interview techniques during a British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) multimedia workshop and will also be part of the BFBS Scotland breakfast show.

Tannochside Primary teacher Leigh Kerr said: “It means so much to the pupils to have won, especially because the winner was chosen by the public.

“The project tested the pupil’s research skills and made them think hard about what it was like to fight in a war and what life after conflict must be like.”
