BREAKING Covid: Area to move levels as positive cases cut by half

Coronavirus cases in East Dunbartonshire have more than halved since the area moved into level four restrictions.

The First Minister has just announced that the area, along with the other 10 local authority areas will move to tier three.

There are now 104 cases per 100,000.

Nicola Sturgeon said the Scottish Government was “taking a cautious” approach and will decide later if the area can move to tier two.

She said: “Progress can very very easily go into reverse.”

But she also added she hoped it will be a stepping stone to tier two.

Travel restrictions will remain in place.
